The Working Deep series by Jake Harris is absolute ✨gold✨ - really. They're worth picking up, especially if you want to share the wonders of mining with your family (even big kids and partners), and love supporting a fellow industry colleague.

The books are no fluff and lots of value, packing an amazing amount of info - plus they're visually appealing (illustrated by Mining Boom's Peter Harris) and nostalgic.

✅ Rhyming, educational, and straight to the point
✅ Covers PPE, safety procedures, pos comms, and why they matter
✅ Explains machines and their jobs in a way anyone can understand
✅ Connects mining to everyday life (tech, utilities, transport)

Jake and I have since caught up for coffee and chatted about the pros/cons of the industry, start-ups, and why it matters to back people who are building something useful. While he's more in the technical/business space, and I'm in the people/wellbeing space, this is the kind of overlap I love - making the industry more understandable, approachable, and positive.
